A trip to Japan
Japan is on most bucket lists, let's be honest. Well how does flying first class with Virgin, staying in the Shangri-La Hotel in Tokyo, visiting the Golden Temple in Kyoto and travelling by bullet train sound? This is PickledEgg in Japan.

Where do I start? Well, how about the flights? We flew Upper Class with Virgin – how can I go back? Premium Economy still rocks, but the service, the bed and, above all, the arriving fresh in Tokyo… upgrade is going to have to be my middle name.
So, you’re on the ground for your incentive trip to Japan, the next thing is where are you staying? I would suggest setting aside some budget for this: the Peninsula Hotel and the Shangri-La are well worth the extra. Nothing beats a smooth, stress-free transfer from the airport and these hotels make you feel like a real VIP. The five-minute shoulder massage on arrival for weary travellers – all I can say is, oh yes!
Now you’re unpacked, relaxed and ready to go. But go where? How about bucket-list favourite Mount Fuji (hot springs! cable car! lake cruise!), or beautiful Kyoto and the incredible Golden Temple, or a day at the Suzuka Circuit, where you could get all a bit Rush and James Hunt. Talking about speed, a trip to Japan isn’t complete without first-class tickets for the Shinkansen bullet train.
Of course, there’s a lot more to do, from dinner Teppenyaki-style at the famous Mon Cher Ton Ton and a helicopter sunset cruise over Tokyo to VIP seats for world championship sumo and a river ride down the Hozugawa and exploring the Bamboo Forest in rickshaws. I should also mention the Taiko Drum Experience, the Samurai performances and the sushi-making lessons with Japan’s top chefs.
There is so much great stuff to do on a corporate event in Japan. A big thank you to everyone who made my trip possible. PickledEgg will definitely be back.
