The brief was a high-profile financial industry conference with sports hospitality. The subject of the event was financial risks but we weren’t going to take any.

The Challenge

The client, a London-based financial company, wanted to hold a conference in the UK. They wanted to attract some of the biggest names in the financial world. The event must take place outside of London but the location still had to be well served by transport links. The conference had to be a premium event and needed to be supported by an online presence including a delegate registration system.

The BIG Idea

Stoke Park luxury hotel and estate was chosen as the host venue for the conference. The conference would take place during The Boodles Tennis, a prestigious warm-up event for Wimbledon that is hosted in the grounds of Stoke Park. One of the highlights of the social calendar, this event would help establish a premium experience. We assisted with all the logistics, from transfers to the hotel to the setting up of the conference facilities, and secured highly regarded financial specialists to sit on panels at the conference. We researched and sourced other guest speakers. After the conference, delegates would enjoy a private dining experience and VIP access to the tennis tournament, including hospitality.

The Highlights

The delegate aquisition campaign went very well and the conference was fully booked with leading industry contacts. The conference, which took place in the prestigious Mansion House, made a big impact and the overall delegate journey was smooth and successful. We secured Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell to give key note speech on risk, which was very well received, as was the presence of leading financial figures on the panels. After the conference, the guests all enjoyed the tennis and hospitality, helping to cement the premium status of the event.

The Upshot

The calibre and number of attendees and the profile of the speakers and panel members helped to affirm the client’s reputation for holding “not-to-be-missed” events. The conference combined with the tennis tournament hospitality provided a stimulating environment for networking and relationship building. Overall, the event increased mindshare and improved the client’s reputation within the financial sector as being a key player on the subject of risk.
